Faeli: I am glad that I had the opportunity to be in a battle like that

 Hi Faeli, you came back from London just a short while ago and brought a silver medal. What fresh feeling do you have about it?
Hi, it’s definitely satisfaction, right after the finals, I thought how unlucky I was in the last games, but nothing can be done about it. Hoej played brilliantly throughout the tournament and I am glad that I was able to be in a battle like this final bo7.

 So what did actually happen in the finale? You were leading 3-1 and were just one game away from the overall victory. How did the opponent manage to beat you or what moments would you say were the key ones?
I would start by telling you how I managed to lead 3-1: I knew that hoej saw me play all matches in the tournament and I correctly concluded that he would certainly not expect me to start with patron warrior. So I decided to do so – overall the decision on which packages are going to meet was mine and it led me to the state 3-1. Here I got a fundamental choice – to “revive” one of the decks – it was possible to revive all three of them and I finally chose midrange paladin. Unfortunately then I lost three games in a row with this deck but those who saw the first and the second one known how close I was – but that’s Hearthstone and the game goes wrong sometimes. The last (seventh) game was completely managed by hoej and I didn’t stand a chance against his start.

 How were the other matches? There was a spicy duel with the second Czech representative in the semi-finals and the group was quite dramatic, was it not?
The group „A“ was full of good players and the start against Hoej on the main stage did not please me very much – when I could did not manage to win even my better matchups, the score was 0-3. Then I played a match outside of the stream against Cipher who was amongst the tournament favourites, but I managed to defeat him quickly and surprisingly easily 3-0. This gave me the chance to fight for the possibility to advance to the second day against Weasel – the game did not start well for me at all and moreover, I panicked at the score of 0-2 in one round but I was fortunately ahead in the game and I won it in the next rounds. I pulled myself together from this round and I think I didn’t make any mistakes after. And at the end, the opponent helped me a little to the win 3-2 and the advancement when he first didn’t wait for draw, then he miss-clicked while scrolling through cards and at the end didn’t have time to attack. Regarding the semi-finals against Sychry – I went there with great confidence. Although Sychry played the whole tournament very well, I had a bit of advantage in the line-up which eventually resulted in the win 3-1. 

 How would you evaluate the tournament itself? Did you like the organisation? Would you like to repeat something like that in the near future?
Everything worked absolutely perfectly – accommodation, travelling was organised also with a precise description of when and where to go. Anything we needed was immediately arranged. And what I liked the best were the people who came to the event, all players, commentators and admins had great attitude – they welcomed us among them as if we had known each other for years already, we went together for meals and so on. I am definitely going to fight hard in next qualifications – it was worth it!

 Did anything interesting happen to you during your stay in London?
Perhaps the greatest experience outside of HS was on Monday before we departed when we went to see the Wimbledon Tennis Club. On the way back, we just walked and chilled and I accidentally ran into my friend from my town who was also in London at that time but we didn’t know about each other being there – the world is small.

 Do you already know what are you going to do with the beautiful prize? Are you planning any additional vacation?
I could finance a “vacation” with it – perhaps a trip to DreamHack or any other similar event. I also need a tablet and a bankroll for poker.
