A: Hi I’m Kevin, toplaner from SK Gaming, I’m now 1 year with SK and played a lot of offline tournaments with them, during this 1 year I switched positions from top to mid to ad, but now I’m back top and very happy about it, in season 1 I was known for my Nidalee, in season 2 I think Irelia was my best champ.
Q: You become well-known for your long duration rank 1 in solo queue. It was only matter of time when you will join famous clan. When you received offer from SK Gaming what were you first feelings like? Were you happy or a bit nervous cause of responsibility.
A: In the past I played with Nyph and Candy Panda in a team, they got a offer from SK after Dreamhack and as soon as they needed a toplaner they asked me, of course I was happy but to be honest I wasn’t afraid, I’ve never could imagine that eSports would become this big like it is now.
Q: What was your primary position before joining SK and what about that switches you made in SK?
A: My primary position before SK war midlane, I switched to toplane because SK needed me as toplaner and I’m a good allrounder gamer, like you can also see in case of my recent positionchanges. Also I learned to love toplane because it’s kinda like a lonely island, you almost the whole game top alone and contesting your opponent, you’re on your own and don’t rely on anybody, it just fits me.
Q: Few months ago new thread from Asia was revealed. Do you think that LoL gonna have same fate like SC II and become one day domination of Asian players or europe players can take the reign again?
A: Of course we all know that in Asia are living the best players, but I think that has a lot to do with the society, in Asia it is normal for the people to play computer games, for them you are a star when you can play it professional, in Germany for example when you tell somebody you are playing games professionally you get titeld as nerd, so I think it’s easier for the Asians to become a good gamer and that makes the Asian scene inevitable dominating in games. But I hope that europe can show the world that we have the most potential to be the best region.
Q: Some other teams are not that emotional like SK. Especially Ocelote and Araneae are very emotional and motivate each other as much as possible. Does this help you too? Or you like more calm atmosphere with more focus?
A: Out of the game we all motivate each other, while gaming it’s like your emotions just come up and we let them out to put ourselfs on fire, also Nyph sometimes screams and he is the most silent person I know, I love to play with such an attitude, I think it’s also more exciting for the audience.
Q: Meta AD carry, supp, AP carry, jungle, top still works. But do you think that in a future smb will come again with double jungle or AP carry bot like karthus and will have success? Or today´s meta is best setup?
A: We tested ourselfes doublejungle and I’m pretty sure it won’t work, I think our meta is pretty good right now, the only thing that can maybe change in my opinion is the role of the support, we see also now developing a trend to use AP champs for support like Lulu or Zyra, I can also good imagine to play Orianna as support or other APs.
