Resume: eSuba.INTEL on ESWC 2012

StarCraft II: TomikuS surprised the whole Europe and was very close to a huge sensation

Strategic fight was one of the most watched games of the whole championship and we had two competitors from the Czech Republic – Česká republika Pavel „TomikuS“ Tomášek and Česká republika Radek „freizy“ Šiška. They were led by Grunex and were drawn to very difficult groups from the beginning. Šiška had a little bit of bad luck, because he couldn’t train due to some technical problems the whole week before and it made a big difference when he stood against players like Francie Stephano or Švédsko SortOf . Even though Radek played very nice games he had to leave the tournament in the basic group. On the other hand Tomášek showed a real style and finally brought some success from a foreign championship to Czech StarCraft. We really hope, that he showed to all of those who doubt, that we have very good players who can stand against the best European ones. Pavel was playing in a quite nice group and he was supposed to advance from the second place – he believed that he can beat Rumunsko DeathAngel which he also did. Then he had to play against Polsko MaNa the partaker of GSL, the winner of DreamHack and the winner of silver medal from last year’s ESWC. The battle against this Polish player ended beyond the expectations. The Czech Zerg won 2:1 the first place in the basic group. Play-off looked very good also and he almost beat Holandsko Harstem which would put him among the 8 best players. At the end he managed to be within the 16 best players which is a great success. He is also the only one, who managed to beat the Polish ESWC 2012 champion.

TrackMania Nations: Tween drove for silver in the dramatic finish

The only racing game on ESWC takes part there for a long time. It is usually one of the most interesting games to be watched even though that its support lessens, which is a pity, because it is a very easy game to understand and it gives a lasting experience to the audience. Two team members from eSuba.Red Bull team went to Paris – last year’s gold and silver medalists – Slovensko Erik „hakkiJunior“ Leštach and Slovensko Marek „tween“ Pacher, the member of the Slovak representation led by Grunex. They went to Paris with a huge dream to be as successful as the last year, but already in the starting game – Time Attack, it seemed like this dream will not come true. Leštach wasn’t in a great form and finished last but one, Pacher was third. When the groups were drawn, both our representatives were in the same group. It might have been a little bit surprising when Erik won this group and advanced to the final WB. Marek did a little less good and went to LB. His team colleague joined him in another round and the great success from the year 2011 seemed really close. Unfortunately it didn’t work out. The 2011champion finished third which meant that he wouldn’t advance to the final race. The whole final race was really thrilling and the finish was extremely dramatic, because Tween fought very hard so he almost got the gold medal. This awesome race cannot be described, have a look yourselves.

ShootMania Storm: The first big try-out didn’t go well for eSuba

No one knew what to expect from the brand new shooting game ShootMania Storm, which has its place in eSuba for some time now. Our team was quite successful on many online cups and they were also invited to ESWC 2012. It was their first and biggest test against the European top players. The time showed that our group didn’t have enough of good luck and they couldn’t beat the French competition. This event was finished for them after three losses and the players came home with mixed feelings. Anyway they have now the possibility to work harder and get better in those factors that didn’t work so well in Paris.
