The beginning of play-off on Saturday was the biggest attraction for Polish audience which was looking forward to see matches of their residential sweethearts. At the end they must have been very disappointed because both MaNa and
Nerchio didn’t manage to beat their opponents (TLO a Daisy) and left the tournaments quite soon. Nevertheless it didn’t spoil spectators mood and they kept chant their names even after the loss. To sum it up – the audiences was unbelievable, and as most people say, the best in the whole history of StarCraft II and possibly the best among the electronic sports.
Let’s get back to the tournament. In the first round also finished one of the favorites, very popular Grubby, stopped by
YoDa, and
LucifroN who showed, that his TvT playing skill is very poor – he lost with
Kas with a difference of at least two categories. The second round – officially the quarter finals was quite typical. Asian players dominated the European ones. We could see only one European in semifinals –
Socke. But he was very quickly beaten and the finals were completely Korean. It was
First (who didn’t lose any game in IEM and had lost so far only one map) against
Dream. This young Terran managed to beat in play-off the main candidate for the championship title
PartinG.
At the last match of this tournament we could watch the battle between Protoss and Terran, which was definitely worth to see. At the end the winner was First, who confirmed his current form as well as his previous results. He also got 6 500 dollars. You can watch the final match on ESL TV.
The final results:
1. place:
First
2. place:
Dream
3. place:
PartinG,
Socke
