tween became a three-time runner-up in the World Championship!

This year as well as the last year, three representatives of the eSuba club went to France and they had bigger goals than last year.  In the year 2013 none of them reached to the medal position although there were high expectations of it. This year’s expedition composed of  Jakub „Kubayz“ Faul,  Erik „hakkiJunior“ Leštach and  Marek „tween“ Pacher went to rectify their reputation. It was extremely difficult this year because the Trackmania 2 race was attended by all the world top players so their chances weren’t so great. But our drivers trained very hard. Faul and Leštach even attended a several-day-long boot camp in Nest where there prepared under the supervision of the captain of the French  Antonín „Toni“ Bláha. Pacher joined them later on the way to the tournament.

The battle in Western Europe began on Saturday with the Time Attack as usual, which classified all the contestants into groups. The Slovaks were successful in the round of sixteen and managed to go forward but the only Czech player on the ESWC 2014 went straight to the Losers Bracket after his unsuccessful drive. hakkiJunior joined Kubayz a little bit later and both of them had to face the unpleasant and sad elimination. Since then tween was the last hope. His performance was absolutely flawless which got him to the finals of Winners Bracket. He did not advance from there to the grand finale though and fell to the LB. This smaller problem didn’t distract him and he managed to get among the best four players – to the GF.

Dramatic finale and the last race brought typical drama and as usual a nerve wracking finish. Unrivalled was the overall winner from Canada CarlJr who finished first. A great battle for the second place between tween and YoYo was breathtaking. At the end our player was better and he could celebrate the second place for the third time which made him one of the most successful players in the history of Trackmania.  In addition to the silver medal Marek won prize money of $ 2,500. Congratulations!!!
